The short version. We collect the information you give us when you request a quote or list a business, plus basic technical data. We use it to connect homeowners with professionals and to run the Platform. We do not sell your personal information. When you submit a request, we share your details with the professional(s) you are matched to — that is the whole point of the service. You can access, correct, or delete your information at any time.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Tegula Stone LLC ("Tegula Stone," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information on tegulastone.com and our web application (the "Platform"). It applies to homeowners, professionals, and visitors. It works alongside our Terms of Use. By using the Platform, you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and request details — your name, email, phone number, project location or ZIP code, and the project details you enter when you request an estimate or send a message.
- Account details — for professionals: business name, service areas, credentials you choose to display, listing photos, and (optionally) date of birth. For all users: the display name and email tied to your login.
- Photos and documents — images you upload (project photos, profile or portfolio photos) and documents or signatures you create or send through the Platform.
- Workplace, crew and time-tracking data — if a professional uses our job tools: the workers or clients they invite, worker names and emails, clock-in/clock-out times, timesheets, and project updates and notes. This information is self-entered by users; we do not verify it.
- Location you choose to share — if you tap "use my current location," we collect your device's precise location for that feature; otherwise we only use the ZIP or area you type.
- Content you post — reviews, ratings, messages, and other material you submit.
- Communications — messages you send us or other users through the Platform (including in-app chat and any masked-calling, messaging, or logging features we may offer), and your email or support correspondence. We store these communications, and, where permitted by law, may monitor, log, record, or transcribe communications sent through Platform-provided channels to operate the service, provide support, and detect fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, approximate location from your IP, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the Platform is used; it sets cookies and shares usage data with Google. See Section 5.
- Security and delivery — our content-delivery and security provider (Cloudflare) processes request data (including IP address) to serve the site and protect against abuse.
- Push tokens — if you enable notifications, we store a device push token to deliver alerts.
Information from third parties
- Sign-in providers — if you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider shares basic account information (such as your name and email) with us to create or access your account. Our authentication and infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) processes account and verification data.
- Payment status — for professional subscriptions, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details directly and shares limited transaction status with us. We do not receive or store your full card number.
We do not collect government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health data, and we do not run background or credit checks. We only collect precise location if you actively use a location feature.
3. How we use information
- To connect homeowners with professionals — including sharing a request with matched professionals so they can respond;
- To generate cost estimates and operate the features of the Platform;
- To create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- To process and manage professional subscriptions through our payment processor;
- To send service messages — such as quote confirmations, replies, account and billing notices, and, where you have opted in, occasional updates;
- To respond to support requests and resolve issues;
- To analyze and improve the Platform;
- To monitor, log, and review communications sent through Platform-provided channels, where permitted by law, to maintain safety, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
4. How and when we share
We share personal information only as described here:
- With the other party to a connection. When you submit a request, we share your contact and project details with the professional(s) you are matched to so they can contact you by phone, text, or email about your request. When a professional responds, the homeowner sees the professional's listing information. This is the core function of the Platform.
- With service providers. We use trusted vendors to run the Platform — including Google Firebase (database, authentication, storage, notifications), Cloudflare (hosting, delivery, security), Google Analytics (usage analytics), Stripe (subscription payments), and Google and Apple (sign-in). They may process personal information only to provide services to us and are bound to protect it.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or us.
- In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Professionals receive homeowner details only to respond to a specific request and must not reuse them for unrelated marketing.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: essential functionality (such as keeping you signed in) and analytics. For analytics we use Google Analytics (GA4), which sets cookies and collects usage data (such as pages viewed and general device and location information) and shares it with Google as an independent processor. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy and opt out with Google's browser add-on. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality. We honor recognized opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required, and we do not sell your personal information.
6. Your choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update your account information by signing in, or by contacting us.
- Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
- Email preferences. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in those emails. We may still send service and billing messages.
- Cookies. You can manage cookies in your browser as described above.
To make a request, email support@tegulastone.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
7. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) gives you the rights to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it; to request access to or deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out of sale is required, but you may still exercise the rights above.
The categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (such as name, email, phone, IP address, push token); customer records (such as project, listing, workplace, and timesheet details); characteristics such as date of birth where provided; commercial information (subscription status); internet activity (usage and analytics data); geolocation (the ZIP or area you provide, and precise location only if you use a location feature); audio/visual information (photos and documents you upload); and professional or employment-related information (such as worker names, roles, and clock-in/out times entered by professionals using our job tools). We collect these for the purposes in Section 3 and share them as described in Section 4. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| Your right | How to use it |
| Know / access | Email us; we will provide the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you. |
| Delete | Email us to request deletion, subject to legal exceptions. |
| Correct | Update your account or email us to fix inaccurate information. |
To exercise any right, email support@tegulastone.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject. You may use an authorized agent. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, and afterward only as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Routine backups may persist for a limited period.
9. How we protect data
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your account credentials and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.
10. Children
The Platform is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party sites
The Platform may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. This policy does not apply to them. Review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
12. Where we operate
We operate in the United States, and the Platform is intended for users in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
